Virus Scanner

The SoupHub computers run Linux based Operating Systems and are basically immune to viruses.  This doesn't mean that users can't accidentally download a virus and save it to the hard drive.  This can subsequently get accidentally copied to a usb drive and then transported to a system where it might do some harm.   We have installed the "ClamAV" virus scanner on all the workstations:

To use the scanner find the desktop shortcut for "virus scanner" or in the applications menu, and click on that to open it up.    A small window will open up with the ClamAV interface, if you don't see it, make sure another window didn't dragged over the top of it it's easy to miss.   It looks like this:









To scan all the files in the Guest user account click on the scan menu item and choose "Recursive scan":
